The partnership between Mack and HBX sprouted its roots when HBX made the leap from a 2013 Volvo to a 2016 Mack Pinnacle in 2016. With the high cost of diesel in 2016- Jamie was eager to tighten up his operating expenses. Hell Bent Xpress had already tested ownership on Freightliner, Kenworth, and Volvo with lackluster results. He hoped the updated engine in the Mack would increase his profitability in that regard.
That decision would change his life and business in the future.
He soon began documenting his journey on his Twitter page, sharing his fuel numbers from his LinkeDrive app. It wasn’t long before Mack noticed not only his great fuel economy, but the engagement on his social media accounts as well.
In 2018, Mack invited him to partner with their brand. They leased a test truck to him to continue to drive OTR. He would document his travels and offer feedback on improvements needed on the drivetrain functionality as well as driver comforts. They are now entering their third year of this partnership.
As Jamie expands his fleet he continues to choose Mack over the competition. The partnership proved the efficiency of the truck and the subsequent lowered operating expenses. It was and continues to be a win-win for both brands.
